Thyroid is butterfly shaped gland located in front side of our throat, just below the Adams apple. This gland produces hormones that regulate heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature and weight. Cancer occurred in thyroid cells is called thyroid cancer.

Thyroid cancer is getting very common. Doctors believe this is because of new technologies that can find minor thyroid cancer cases. This cancer can be developed in any age, though it is more likely to occur in adults.

Few symptoms of thyroid cancer are:

• A lump or swelling on the side of the neck is the most common symptom.
• Having trouble breathing.
• Having trouble swallowing.
• Having a hoarse voice.

Like most other cancers, thyroid cancers are caused when a gene mutation happen in the thyroid cells. But here too are several risk factors like – being exposed to radiation and inherited gene from ancestors.
