A Nation-Wide Call for Gau Samman Has Begun — and You Can Be Part of It
How a peaceful, constitutional movement is turning the tide for India's indigenous cows — and why April 27, 2026 is a date every cow lover must mark.
“The primary goal is to petition the Central and State governments through non-violent means, within the constitutional framework, to grant national honour to all indigenous Indian cattle for the benefit of the nation and Indian culture.” |
India’s indigenous cows — the gentle, sacred Gaumata — have sustained our civilization for millennia. They nourish our farms, heal our bodies through Panchgavya, and anchor our culture and spiritual life. Yet today, millions of these animals face slaughter, neglect, and systemic abandonment. The Gau Samman Aahvaan Abhiyan (GSA Abhiyan) is a nationwide, non-violent movement that says: enough. It is time for India to honour what she has always known — the cow deserves our protection, not just our reverence.
Launched under the symbolic patronage of Vedlakshana Gaumata (Adyashakti Maa Surbhi) and presided over by Nandi Baba (Neelmani Vrishabhdev), the Abhiyan is backed by acharyas, saints, cow devotees, and guardians of Indian tradition across the country. Its method is peaceful and constitutional: mobilise citizens, collect petitions, and place the demands of crores of cow lovers directly before the highest offices of the land.
What the Campaign Is Asking For
The GSA Abhiyan carries four core, non-negotiable demands to the Central and State governments:
Main Objectives of the Campaign
1 | Complete ban on slaughter: A total prohibition on the slaughter of indigenous Indian cattle, ensuring full protection of all native breeds across every state. |
2 | National status for Gaumata: Official recognition of the cow as National Mother, National Deity, National Heritage, or National Foundation — enshrined in India’s national identity. |
3 | Central legislation and a dedicated ministry: Uniform central laws for cow service, and the establishment of a Central Ministry for Cow Service to guarantee consistent care nationwide. |
4 | Agricultural integration: Grazing boards, fodder security policies, promotion of cow-based agriculture, and expanded production and marketing of Panchgavya products. |
Save Cows India Charitable Trust: Bringing the Movement to Every Doorstep
The GSA Abhiyan is a national call — but it succeeds only when it reaches every neighbourhood, every community, and every concerned citizen. That is where Save Cows India Charitable Trust steps in as an active support partner, driving both the awareness and the technology that connects communities to this mission.
📣 Online Awareness Social media campaigns, digital content, and online petition drives reaching cow lovers across platforms. | 🪧 Offline Outreach Physical leaflet distribution, community events, and on-ground mobilisation in temples, clubs, and residential societies. |
💻 Technology Support Digital tools, volunteer coordination systems, and infrastructure to manage community sign-ups and petition tracking. | 🤝 Community Liaison Connecting RWAs, temple committees, and school administrators to the campaign’s mission and petition process. |
Our Focus: Reaching You Where You Live & Work
We are making a deliberate effort to reach large, connected communities — because change at scale starts with neighbourhoods and institutions. Our outreach is specifically focused on Kolkata based:
Residential complexes & housing societies
Clubs & cultural associations like Art of Living Foundation, Rotary Club, Purvanchal Nagrik Parishad etc.
Temples & religious trusts - for example - Rani Sati Mandir, Kalighat, Birla Mandir, Addyapeeth Temple, Dakshineswar etc.
Schools & educational institutions
Corporate organisations & offices like members of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB)
Professional & trade bodies - like Indian Chamber of Commerce etc.
Our team connects with RWA representatives, community managers, temple committees, school principals, and organisational heads to help them bring the GSA Abhiyan petition to their members and residents. Whether it is setting up a signing station at a society gate, organising a brief awareness talk at a temple, or sharing the petition link with a WhatsApp group — we are here to make participation effortless.
If you represent or are a member of any such community, we would love to hear from you. Together, we can ensure that not a single willing signer is left unreached.
Sign the Petition. Spread the Word. Join the Movement.
Add your voice to crores of Indians asking the government to honour Gaumata as National Mother and end cow slaughter. The petition takes under two minutes — and it matters.

Jai Gaumata.
