⏰ Best Time to Have Amla Juice

Early morning (best) - On empty stomach - 20–30 ml fresh juice + equal amount of water, as it enhances absorption and detox effect. It helps the body receive environmental prāṇa more efficiently. This is why it synergises beautifully with sunrise disciplines and yajña-based lifestyles. 

⚠️ Avoid at night - Cooling in nature and may disturb digestion or cause cold/cough tendencies

How to Take (Ayurvedic methods)

  • Normal constitution: Plain or diluted with water

  • Vata dominant / cold sensitivity: Add a pinch of dry ginger or honey (never mix honey in hot water)

  • Pitta dominant: Plain is excellent — amla pacifies excess heat

  • Kapha dominant: Add a pinch of black pepper or trikatu

Winter amla is the best quality and cheapest. Hence you can buy in bulk from wholesale markets (generally at Rs. 50/- per kg) and store it in the following ways even for six months.

Salt-Water Storage (Traditional Indian method)

Shelf life: 6–8 months
Best for: Daily slicing, chewing, light cooking

How:

  1. Sterilize a glass jar

  2. Fill with whole amla

  3. Add boiled & cooled water + 2–3% rock salt

  4. Ensure amla stays submerged

Sun-Drying (Best for churna & tea)

Shelf life: 1 year
Best for: Powder, decoction, night use

How:

  1. Slice amla thin
